Department of Materials Science graduate wins the EUSEW Woman in Energy Award

Dr. Anastasia-Maria Moschovi graduated from the Department of Materials Science of the University of Patras and holds a PhD from the Department of Chemical Engineering of the University of Patras. She works as the head of the Research & Innovation Department of the Monolithos company and was declared a 2023 "Woman in Energy" receiving the corresponding award from the European Union (European Sustainable Energy Awards - EUSEW) https://sustainable-energy-week.ec.europa. eu/awards/eusew-2023-awards-winners_en.

Candidates for the prize would have to restore ways of weaning the European economy from "critical materials" which come from third countries. Ms. Moschovi's nomination related to an innovative method she discovered at the recycling company Monolithos which provides for the recovery of precious metals such as platinum, rhodium and palladium from the fuel cell and other combustion devices promoted for the energy production from hydrogen.

We congratulate Ms. Moschovi on this distinction and wish her to continue to be so creative in her field.
